LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) qualification is intended for:

• Classical Greek learners who wish to:
  
  • acquire an Ancient Greek language acquisition from an internationally recognised Awarding Organisation
  • provide current or potential employers with information as to their Ancient Greek language level
  • master the Ancient Greek language and monitor their own progress
  • undertake a course of study at a university or college and require evidence of their Ancient Greek knowledge
• Universities and Colleges that:
  
  • need to establish the Ancient Greek language level of students to evaluate their ability to follow their chosen course of study
  • wish to offer students a test which will provide them with a certification of their Ancient Greek language knowledge
  • require an externally recognised certification as part of their matriculation or graduation process

The LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) is a unique Classical Greek language certificate for anyone who is interested in turning Greek history, legends, myths, culture and all the diachronic values that are associated with ancient Greek language into reality.

The LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) assesses the candidates’ reading and language use skills along with their awareness of Classical Greek language lexico-grammatical structures.

The Reading component assesses the candidate’s ability to understand the main idea of a text and the skills to look for specific information or line of argument.

The Language Use component mainly assesses the candidate’s awareness of the Classical Greek language lexico-grammatical structures and their ability to recognize and utilize correct grammatical forms.

There are no entry requirements for any candidate prior to taking their LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) qualification.

There is no minimum age recommended, although adults/ young underage candidates that have attended relevant courses are considered more qualified to take the exam.

• LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek A1 & A2 levels consist of 4 parts with 40 items in total (picture-word matching, true/false, multiple choice and cloze texts with options).
• LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek B1 & B2 levels consist of 5 parts with 40 items in total (multiple-choice questions in sentences, short, long & gapped text and text with missing sentences).

Candidates taking a Paper-based, Computer-based, or an Online LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) exam will receive an overall score from 0-100, a Statement of Results and Certificate stating the scores and level attained.

The overall scores have been formed as such:

Test Centres do not get involved in the assessment. All marking is carried out by LanguageCert.

Candidates that have booked their LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) exam via a LanguageCert appointed Test Centre can contact it directly to discuss retake options. Candidates who have obtained their exam voucher via languagecert.org can purchase another exam voucher and schedule a new exam to achieve better results.

The official results and the LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) e-certificate are released up to 2 business days.

• Statement of Results & e-certificate are available in 2 business days
• Results are sent to you by email or through your Test Centre. Preliminary results for LanguageCert Test of Classical Greek (LTCG) computer-based exams are released immediately
• Hard-copy certificates are issued shortly after results are released and sent either directly to you or to your Test Centre
