For me, winning this scholarship is incredibly important. Coming from Colombia, it represents the fulfilment of a great dream; to study in another country and seek opportunities for a better life. I never believed this was possible, but winning this scholarship has been key to continuing my education and pursuing my dreams.

Since I was a kid I loved science, but I was aware of the few opportunities to pursue a career in this inside my country, so when I decided to study in USA to achieve my goals, I faced many challenges like the high international fees or being underestimate for where I come from, even by people in my own community who believed what I was doing wasn't worth it, so this scholarship besides being a huge help for me and my family to pay my college tuition, has given me more confidence to continue pursuing my dreams even if things remain difficult as they have been until now.

Receiving the HACU scholarship sponsored by LANGUAGECERT feels like being on a peaceful beach, just like the one in this picture. It gives me a sense of calm and relief, knowing that I have the support to focus on my studies without financial stress. This scholarship allows me to appreciate the journey of learning, much like enjoying the gentle waves and the serene view. It symbolizes a new beginning and motivates me to continue striving for success. With this opportunity, I’m more determined to achieve my goals and give back to the community that believed in me.

My name is Guisela, I am from Guatemala, I come from a family of ten children so access to education was not easy. I realized the economic shortcomings of my family since I was little, so I have always strived to get good grades and apply for scholarships because I really want to have better opportunities in life. I am studying Cybersecurity at Spokane Falls Community College, I am surprised by almost everything here in Spokane, Washington because it is different in many areas from my country, and I enjoy learning new things. I am so grateful for the CCID/LANGUAGECERT Scholarship that I got; it will support my tuition for the quarter, which is a great financial relief for me. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to study in the United States and wants to have a scholarship, so I strongly encourage other people to apply for this golden opportunity.

I am originally from Togo, in West Africa and I am currently pursuing my degree at Sinclair Community College.
Sinclair Community College has provided me with resources and support which helped me achieve the criteria to qualify for this scholarship, especially the African American Male Initiative, International Outreach Center and the Tutoring Center also.
The CCID 2024 scholarship will help me pay towards the financial burden I can encounter as an international student.
