The test consists of 4 parts. The duration of the parts is the following: 
Listening: approx. 35 minutes
Reading: 50 minutes
Writing: 45 minutes
Speaking: approx. 12 minutes

The total duration of the LanguageCert General test is about 142 minutes.

LanguageCert General assesses Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills.

The LanguageCert General test is for candidates seeking to migrate for work or vocational purposes to the United Kingdom. The test measures a range of skills and competences appropriate for personal, occupational and vocational contexts.

There are no entry requirements to taking the LanguageCert General test.

The LanguageCert General Test is widely accessible through 2 delivery modes: through the LanguageCert Secure Test Centre Network (150+ centres globally), or Online with remote, live proctoring (coming soon).

Yes, you can book exams directly from the LanguageCert website.

You are allowed to have one blank piece of paper only during the online LanguageCert General Speaking exam. The proctor will request to check it to ensure that it is blank on both sides. It must be shredded in front of the online proctor once the exam is over. For computer-based Test Centre exams, the Test Centre manager will provide you with a Note Board (for the Speaking Exam only). 

Both parts (Listening-Reading-Writing and Speaking) of the LanguageCert Academic test can be taken at the same day (provided slots are available) or separately within 14 days of each other.

LanguageCert test results and certificates do not have an expiry date. However, you should check with the institution/organisation you are applying to for any specific requirements. 

You are not required to complete any course in order to take the LanguageCert General test. If you feel confident about your English language level, you can sit for the exams straight away.

It is, however, recommended that you undertake a short course that explains the different exam tasks. All our LanguageCert Approved Test Centres offer courses which prepare candidates for our exams. You should contact your nearest Test Centre ahead of your exam to enquire about the available courses.

Prices per country are available on our website (www.languagecert.org) and candidates must book their exams (Test Centre or Online exams) through our website (www.LanguageCert.org). 

Official results are issued in 5 business days (after your last exam). You will receive your hard copy certificate shortly after your results.

Your Test Report displays feedback per skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) and overall. You will not only be described as having, for example, ‘B2 ability’, but a more precise level of detail will be provided via scores on the LanguageCert Global Scale.

No, the LanguageCert General test is not a ‘pass or fail’ test. Test results indicate your proficiency levels in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
